The Issue
All Are We founder and professional surfer, Kelly Potts, who was raised surfing in Hawai’i, recognized the lack of diversity in the surfing line ups when she revisited her Northwest Roots in 2016. She was concerned with the level of surfing safety and etiquette practiced by these communities, and the hostility of many white surfers claiming surfing spaces as their territory on Indigenous ancestral lands. She was sad to see there weren’t many, if any, Indigenous surfers at the surf breaks near their home, and she knew she could do something about it.
One Solution
Kelly, and a huge group of warm-hearted volunteers, started offering free surfing clinics for Indigenous communities in Washington, Oregon and Northern California. With the help of sponsors, local companies, and loving individuals, she was able to get the funding and equipment to bring her professional surf coaching expertise to these under-recognized rural communities. Kelly’s programs have always been centered around safety and ocean awareness, all while having fun, connecting with nature, and creating a supportive surfing community.

Sponsor an entire community’s Indigenous Surfers Retreat! You and/or your company can cover the cost of all 60 Indigenous Surfers who come to surf at one retreat.
Sponsor two Indigenous Surfers Retreat Communities - $18,000
Sponsor two different community’s retreats in our Indigenous Surfers Retreats program series! You and/or your company can cover the cost of 120 Indigenous Surfers who come to surf at two different retreats.
